Also it is possible to download content from Amazon Whispernet. The latest version of Kindle is embedded with 3G and GSM technologies. It works on Linux-2.6.10. It supports almost all the widely used text file formats like TXT, PDF etc. It is also provided with USB 2.0, headphone jack and stereo speakers. Kindle uses a high resolution display technology called ‘electronic paper’ to provide users with paper like display to make reading more comfortable. Also kindle is light weighted and easily portable. It is possible to use the search option of the Kindle to search across the Kindle library. Kindle is provided with QWERTY keyboard for easy use of the users. It also has bookmark option used to bookmark any page for further use. Built in dictionary is also provided with more than 250,000 words. It is also possible to access Wikipedia from Kindle. The battery life is also very good and varies based on the wireless usage. It’s because the wireless usage will consume more battery power.
